Emergency home and office assistance.

The member is assisted with any home/ office emergency or non-emergency on a 24/7 basis at the members permanent residence which includes outbuildings on the premises. These situations apply to Electrical, Plumbing, Household, Motors & Appliances only for which the call-out and first hour’s labour is free of charge to the member. The call centre agent will assist by arranging an appropriate service provider in order to provide for the functioning of essential services and/or to limit consequential damage or sanitation risk.

Tutoring and learning assistance.

This service provides a telephonic, after hour’s homework helpline where qualified tutors assist learners with their homework or project queries. It provides access to the Internet and any information supplied through the Internet can be forwarded to the learners by e-mail, fax or courier service. They therefore receive telephonic assistance in order to do research on behalf of the learner. The role of the tutor is to encourage, explain and assist children with evening homework where so often parents are not available, or perhaps not equipped to deal with the task at hand.

RAF accident assistance/ claims.

RAF Accident Expert specialises in claiming funds for our beneficiaries from the Road Accident Fund (“RAF”) in the event of a death or injury when driving on the roads of South Africa.

Professional, in-house, qualified legal advisors provide advice to the customer on any legal topic or matter ranging from debt and divorce to labour and domestic violence, 24/7

The legal service also provides for standard legal documents such as a domestic worker employment contract, maintenance kit, offer to purchase, small claims court kit, Road Accident Fund, etc.

In addition, the legal advisors will also peruse and evaluate agreements. Matters which require assistance by a practicing attorney will be referred to an attorney on the national database and the member qualifies for a first 30 minute consultation, one letter of demand or a telephonic call to the party in question at no cost, at the discretion of the legal advisor.

HIV Exposure and trauma assistance.

In the event of an incident which may have put the member in danger of contracting HIV/Aids, three (3) psychiatric consultations are provided. A consultation could involve a general practitioner, trauma counsellor or registered nurse with trauma counselling experience.

Exposure to HIV/Aids by an HIV/Aids negative subscriber

• Unlimited telephonic counselling intervention, advice and information

• A “morning after” pill to prevent pregnancy

• 30 Day starter pack of anti-retroviral medication

• 7 Day course of medication for prevention of the development of STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections)

• Registration for an HIV/Aids management program should the counsellor recommend 

Exposure to HIV/Aids by an HIV/Aids positive subscriber

• Unlimited telephonic counselling intervention, advice and information

Bail assistance and recoveries.

The Bail Protect membership provides assistance in posting bail following arrest for a minor crime. This service assists in exercising your legal right to bail. In addition, Bail Protect undertakes to do all administrative management of the bail from start to finish including recoveries and legal assistance.

• 24/7 365 days a year call centre support if you are arrested and require bail.

• Comprehensive Legal advice on your rights regarding your arrest and bail.

• Assistance by contacting the police officer on duty to verify the arrest and bail details.

• Contact with your family to advise them of bail assistance.

• Assistance on your behalf where we ensure that we report to the relevant police station to post your bail.

Crime & security assistance/ Hi-Jacking assistance.

This is a 24-hour crisis management benefit to assist the beneficiary in the event of a home invasion.

• In the case of the beneficiary’s cell phone being stolen from their home in a home invasion, we will provide the beneficiary with a cell phone loaded with pre-paid airtime to the value of R100, which will be couriered to the beneficiary. This component of service only operates during business hours. In the case of the beneficiary’s vehicle being stolen, we will provide them with Group B car hire for 48 hours to keep them mobile. Only with valid Driver’s License & credit card.

• In the case of the beneficiary’s credit card being stolen, we will provide the beneficiary with a pre-loaded debit card to the value of R500 to assist the beneficiary in the interim which will be couriered to the beneficiary. This component of service only operates during business hours.

• In the case of the beneficiary’s keys being stolen in a home invasion, we will send a locksmith to the beneficiary’s house to assist them with their locks, up to the value of R1 000 per annum. The service provider will not cover the cost of the replacement of a lock or the cutting of keys.

• In the case of the beneficiary’s home being invaded, upon their request we will place a security guard at their house for 24-hours after the event has taken place.

• In the case of the beneficiary experiencing an attempted hi-jacking at their main residence, upon the beneficiary’s request we will place a security guard at their house for 24-hours after the event has taken place.

• In case of the beneficiary’s home being invaded, we will facilitate hotel accommodation to the value of R1 000 per annum.

Medical assistance.

The following benefits are on an access only basis. These services include:

• Emergency telephonic advice and information – 24/7

• Liaison with next of kin to keep them informed

In addition to the general medical advice service, medical operators will guide a person through a medical crisis situation involving the beneficiary. The beneficiary will receive emergency advice or have the necessary support organised, by utilising the 24-hour Contact Centre.
